I bought this for a bible study. It was very helpful.Priscilla Shirer knocks it out of the park again with the bible study!Truly loved leading this Bible study and diving deeper into Sabbath principles. This journal coupled with the video teaching is a must do for creating margin and space in our lives. I would do this study a dozen more times and love it!Great author and contentI purchased this item brand new so I expected it to look that way but it was torn up at the edges and overall looked used. It has black ink similar to a stamp on the front of it. Very disappointed with product. It was interesting, as we used in for our Bible study. However, it didn't delve into the Bible very much, and since I am retired, I didn't think observing Sabbath was a very difficult task. In fact, I know it isn't. For a long time, we have spent our Sundays relaxing, reading, watching sports and generally not working. The author did make a couple of good points, however. Sometimes we forget to take those few minutes to sit down and just do for ourselves. We are all caught up in so many daily trials and tribulations, that we forget that God intended Sunday to be a day of rest. For some, it's very difficult to do.I felt like Ms. Shirer was dealing with two different issues (the Sabbath and self-control) by meshing them together. These issues are related to each other, but not one in the same. Also, as is typical in Christian studies, the focus tends to be very much on fixing ourselves. The emphasis is in our trying to change our behaviors instead of dealing with the heart's affections: Ask God for help, form a strategy for dealing with the behavior, set up a form of accountability. While these may not be bad things necessarily, they don't get to the root issues, which only God has the power to deal with.It had been a long while since I had done one of these kind of studies. It took me a little bit to get used to the stage persona, but I was able to glean some good insights from her teachings. I am not sorry I pursued the study, but will probably not do another. So I knew that this was a used book and it was in good condition so I assumed maybe it has some scratches and bends in the paper. Well this book is a journal while you process the video series type book. The book is completely journaled through, and all answers, and thoughts are written down already. I knew I was getting used but I feel as though I should have gotten this for a much more of a discounted price. Long story short check before you buy used on this one. You may want to process some of the content alone.Good thanksBought for a gift and my friend loved it
