Got these for my mom after getting the sames ones for myself in a store. She lives in Russia (northern part), I live in Canada, for both of us winter boots are essential. Though they are not something that would go with an office attire, I convinced her to have them in her wardrobe for those days when it drops to -15-20C. We both have high arches, so just need to put them on slowly, but once on -they are fine. The soles are thick to keep your feet warm and the suede part away from dirt, but sprayed them with a protecting spray anyway (it's just better for future easy cleaning). Size-wise I am 9 (39-39.5 EU) in most boots and I got 40, she wears 9.5 (39.5-40 EU) and I got 41 for her - and it was perfect. Winter boots should not be tight or feet will freeze faster without proper circulation.Bottom-line: warm functional boots that will get you through snowy winters. Plus, I like that they are tall, I'm she 5'8", she is 5'7", and they are close to knee-high.
