I have been buying Bearpaw boots for over a decade now. I bought my first pair after getting sick and tired of winter boots only lasting me 2 seasons - if even that. I practically live in my boots from mid fall to mid spring.My first pair of Bearpaw boots were a classic mukluk style made with rabbit fur leggings and leather uppers and I loved them. They lasted about 6 years before the soles got cracked and could not be repaired so I ordered a second pair. Those just finally wore out after again 6-7 years and I just ordered a third pair. The style I originally got twice before is no longer available in my size so I had to switch to a different calf hugging style called Genevieve.When I bought my original pair, several reviews advised buying them a half size up for a good fit and I did so. I was very pleased with the fit, so I did so this time as well. I usually wear a size 6 1/2 so I ordered a size 7 and they fit perfectly with the socks I always wear with boots. My only concern was how they would slip on and off with this different calf hugging style and - being taller than the previous style - if they would fit comfortably over pants legs. I'm pleased to say they slipped on with ease and my pants legs tucked into them quite nicely without my feeling like my calves were wrapped in a tourniquet (as I've had with other boots I've bought). They were comfortable to walk in and quite warm - if my feet are cold it doesn't matter how bundled up the rest of me is, my thermostat must be set to what my feet feel like.When it came time to take them off, I did have to pull a bit harder than with slipping them on, but in all, they did come off fairly easily as well and all by myself. I did not have to get my husband to tug them off while I hung onto the chair for dear life. I prefer having boots I can get on and off myself without the aid of a dresser and these fit the bill quite well.Hopefully, they will also last 6 or more years and when they finally wear out, I will gladly replace them with another pair of Bearpaws.
