You know, I LOVE my Moleskines... I'm a Coca-Cola girl, for instance. But when Coke made some changes to their famous recipe, years back, I almost left CocaCola for the 'other cola' for good. So it is with my Moleskine loyalty... My newer ones just seem to be missing something... little details, among them, and I may sound weird when I say this, but... the new ones just don't seem to WEIGH as much as my older ones, and I figured it out (sort of), the hard cover itself seems to be made of a lighter-weight stock/finish.Anyway. Tried this Picadilly blank, medium notebook, about the same specs as my 10 year old Moleskine medium black hard-cover ruled one, and even the PAPER in the Picadilly's Essential seems slightly smoother, whiter, even a little heftier? Everything was here that I liked in my Moleskines of old, down to the pocket in the back, the bookmarking ribbon, best of all the cover FELT pricier - almost leatherish.SO I've started this year's sketch and notes journalling in this one, up against an 11 year old Moleskine I FINALLY got around to using last year, and I really am surprised to find I'm falling in love with the Picadilly... One thing I will note, however, is that my colored markers tend to fuzz a bit and bleed through more than I'd like, so I'll be stcking to my fine point gel pens on this one.I hope Moleskine makes a comeback to its earlier lustre... otherwise, I might become a Picadilly Girl. ;-)
